My name is
Alex, and I just created a poker app for Apple and Android smartphones and Tablets. Its name is Social Poker. Social Poker is a 3D Texas Poker game that allows users create their own Sit&Go games.

Social Poker users can personalize their Sit&Go games by deciding the speed of the game, the number of players, and the amount of money to play (Virtual Money). In addition, Social poker uses Facebook databases to allow users invite their friends to play. Finally, Social Poker has a window chat during games that allow players communicate and enjoy with their friends.

Do have realistic expectations. Hearing aids do not restore normal hearing. They provide great help but there are times when you will miss some things.Do stay in quieter situations for the first few days. Go to a quiet restaurant. There will be less background noise and it will be easier to adjust to it.

I will try to do that. It is going to be a challenge if some of these games never start. But I know that you are right. I've seen a .50/1.00 NL games break up a Gamblin' Bills before they closed. I came in, sat down at a short table of five players, played two hands. Folded the first one, crushed the second one, with a straight flush, stacking the player for $11.00 and winning the high hand promotion. Right after that hand, three of the players said it was time to go eat. The player that lost did not want to play. I sat at the empty table (two tables were playing a tourney) for 15 minutes and gave up, going to the Flamingo next door.

a lot of those places u list, never have a game, or have raised their min buyins. wish i had a free place to live in cali so i could protect the rest of my meager roll with $20 NL at hawaaian gardens. club fortune only goes 1 hour or so a day before the tourney, not really a valid option for NL

So true. Most of the casino also have sports betting and slots, which is bad candy for some poker players. I intend to visit every poker room on the list and post about them. Atmosphere and conditions. Closest bathrooms. Things that are important to a poker player grinding a living or extra spending money. Thank you for stopping by.

SmilingBrownBear, Thanks for your comments. I have had a beard on an off for over the last 40 years and this time decided to leave it on. It makes it easier to spot me in a crowd. I did not know what I was missing hearing wise until I got my hearing aids. And Tony answered as well.

Thanks, Tony. Those are good tips. I am not sure what route I will be taking. I’m now thinking of trying each Poker Room twice for my blog, and then give my thoughts about them. I know that only playing twice will not really give me knowledge or great insight but I might find one that fits me better. For sure I am going to give the $50 NL buy-ins a chance and might focus on those only at some point. As I am not a great playing, I need to find a place that have worse players then myself.

lightning is correct, also add samstown, boulder station, circus, riviera, to that list of places allowing $50 NL buyins. it keeps shrinking as casinos raise the min buyin. the $23 sams town tourny at 10am is quite popular. u need 30 buyins for NL, not 20. 300 big bets for limit, but $2-4 with 250 BB should be fine IF there is an aces cracked promo going on. otherwise the rake will get u. my bankroll is almost no better than urs, and its really much less since i have no income. so im sticking to $2-6 spread limit, think its my only chance. change my name to a small c, not a capital C is ur blog listings. if u ever make it to samstown introduce urself and say hi

I think that Stratosphere and Hooters are among the rooms that have a minimum $50 buy in for NL. A good source for that type of thing (now that Poker Grump is gone ) is Tony Bigcharles, who seems to know where most of the inexpensive games are and which casinos are offering interesting promotions.

btw -- It was interesting reading some previous posts. I had a beard for 30 years but shaved it off last fall -- way too much white hair. I like the new look, but shaving every day -- that is the worst. I got hearing aids three years ago, which was one of the best decisions I could make.

Hearing loss can have very bad effects indeed - because the person does not realise what is happening. Many become withdrawn and actually avoid conversations - for obvious reasons. I have a similar loss to you, but also in the lower registers. My advice is to really try to enter into most conversations even if you have to get closer to people to hear what they are saying. Once people understand the problem most will try to make allowances. Welcome back to sanity!

Tony, while the cash games are limit, and there is a five bet cap for each round of betting, there is no actual pot limit. In limit, if a player is heads up, then there is no cap on the number of bets. The limit games play similar to Vegas limit games. BTW, my wife and I just moved to Vegas last month. i have just been made aware that u play at a poker room in NH of all places. i am puzzled as to how they have cash games, the website shows $4 $4 limit. how is this possible, isnt the pot by law there not ever allowed to pass $10? what am i not understanding about NH state laws? they actually have cash stud and omaha too? something must not be right

Hi Steve, thanks for a good post on a interesting topic that has far to long ended up in the shadows. I strongly believe that both Annie Duke and Helmuth know much more than they are claiming. I also strongly believe that them both got away much to easy in the questioning about the UB/AP scandal.

I truly hope that this eventually gets investigated to really see what their both involvement was in UB/AP and how much they knew.
